Prof. Saba Safdar,
Chair of Congress
Dear Members of the IACCP, Delegates and Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing and the Scientific Committee, I am delighted to invite you to the 24th Congress of the IACCP in the City of Guelph in Canada in 2018. Guelph is pronounced like Gwelf and rhymes with self.
Hosting the IACCP Congress is a great honour and we believe Canada is a perfect place to host the next congress. Canada was the first country in the world to adopt multiculturalism as an official policy in 1971. Following, this tradition, the conference theme is Multiculturalism in a Global Perspective: Benefits and Challenges. We are pleased to showcase what Canada and Canadian scholarship on culture and psychology have to offer. More importantly, we offer a platform for scholars working in different parts of the world to come together, exchange ideas, and collaborate. read more
IACCP 2018 Congress
The congress brings together international scholars who investigate the nexus of culture and psychology from diverse perspectives. We offer a platform for scholars working in different parts of the world to come together, exchange ideas, and collaborate.
The conference theme is Multiculturalism in a Global Perspective: Benefits and Challenges. Multiculturalism also reflects psycho-social principles that when all ethnicities and cultures are encouraged to share their language and heritage and have opportunities to interact with each other on a level playing field, such contact usually leads to greater mutual understanding and acceptance. Creating barriers between groups and individuals reinforces ignorance, and leads to mistrust and hostility. In other words, rejection breeds rejection; acceptance breeds acceptance.
Who should attend?
Psychologists from all of the fields especially Cross-Cultural Psychologists, Social Workers, Sociologist, Cultural Researchers, Anthropologists, etc.
